Job Description

The Merchandising Assistant is the liaison between customers, retail locations, and vendors with the purpose of processing and tracking orders, while resolving any ordering issues that may occur during their progression. The role will sit in our corporate HQ and work directly with our buying team. 

 

Your day to day responsibilities will include:

  • Process merchandise orders 
  • Field calls from retail locations and customers with product/pricing inquiries
  • Work as liaison for the retail location, vendor, and/or customer to resolve challenges that occur with orders
  • Complete required follow-up reports
  • Follow-up on order acknowledgements from vendors
  • Ensure retail locations and customers receive accurate, knowledgeable and timely information on orders
  • Follow-up on problem orders to ensure on-time delivery of order is met
  • Work with internal departments/vendors/external companies to resolve challenges pertaining to accounts or other issues
  • Process requests, promos, trainings, in required timeframe

Our ideal candidate:

  • High school diploma required, 2 year degree or undergraduate degree preferred
  • Experience in retail buying or supply chain
  • Prior experience in the furniture or home design industry preferred
  • Solid typing skills; experienced with Microsoft Office Suite; Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up capabilities; strong interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills; outstanding organizational and time management skills
